Maître chocolatier Gérald: a childhood dream becomes a reality
Born in Vilvoorde on 11 October 1982
Chocolate: Gérald De Brandt has thought about nothing else since his tenth birthday. At the age of 12, this irresistible drive led him to embark on a six-year training course at the Wemmel sport and hotel management school. There he was awarded a diploma in bakery, patisserie, confectionery and chocolate making.
After completing his training, Gérald learned the tricks of the trade from one of the best known chocolatiers in Belgium. Four years later he spent time working for Neuhaus and then for Corné Port-Royal. After this he came to work at Leonidas, where he comes up with amazing creations every day.

Chocolate for a Princess
Gérald is a very well-known chocolatier. He has sat on the jury for the final examinations in his former school, and was even asked to create a chocolate decoration to mark the birth of Princess Eléonore. In 2008 he had the pleasure of presenting this to Queen Mathilde and King Philippe in person.
His creations are still a delight to the taste buds – not only yours, but those of the Royal Family as well, since Leonidas is the certified purveyor to the Belgian Royal household. When you taste our chocolates, you will see that we enjoy giving you the royal treatment too.
