    The Story Behind the Manon

    Famous, sought-after, admired and requested. The Manon as we know it today is truly unique. But how did it come to life?
    
Back in 1980, the Manon was filled with a nougatine mixture, topped with a walnut and coated in a layer of sugar. It was Yanni Kesdekoglou, a member of the Leonidas family, who completely reinvented the recipe. His new creation was a world first. His brilliant idea was to replace the sugar coating with white chocolate. At the time, no one else in the world was making pralines with white chocolate.

    The walnut was later replaced with a hazelnut, which can be roasted and keeps better over time. Finally, the nougatine was replaced by the now-famous buttercream. This new recipe gave birth to the Manon we still love today.
